Batteries For Less

EnerDel says they plan to sell batteries for electric cars that will cost about $1,500. That price is for a lithium ion battery, which is cheaper now then it's ever been. The price is also about half of a nicked-metal hydride battery used in past electric cars.

EnerDel hopes to have them in cars by September 2009. There are three phases as part of an 18 month program. Phase one is done.
