UK To Install 250 New Public Charging Stations
The United Kingdom will be getting more electric car friendly soon, will the availability of 250 new public charging stations by next Spring. Electricity producer EDF is teaming up with manufacturer Elektromotive to install charing stations in London, Brighton, and Sheffield. Fees will be determined by local governments.
You may be wondering, why install new stations when there is a lack of electric cars? Well like us here in the U.S., no major automaker has an electric car available in England right now, but smaller companies such as Reva, have smaller electric cars that cannot be purchased in the U.S., but in England.

Chinese Auto Maker To Possibly Make All Electric Sedan
Chinese auto maker BYD is possibly planning to build a fully electric car. They recently announced that they will produce a hybrid, and now possibly a fully electric car. The company is also saying to have made it's own batteries out of iron. As you can see, details are scarce, but BYD will have a spot at the Detroit Auto Show in January, giving us an opportunity to find out more.

Nissan Goes In A Different Direction....
Volkswagen Up!
Volkswagen unveiled its up! mini car at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month. Later at the Tokyo Auto Show, they will show a small five-door mini-van like vehicle based on the up!. And in November right here in Los Angeles, we shall see a plug-in version of the up! The up!, which is only 11.3 feet long, and has low carbon emissions for the non electric model. It is unclear if it will be an all electric or a plug-in hybrid.
Rumor Control: Chevy Volt To Become A Cadillac?
During the GM and UAW strike, Todd Lassa of the Motor Trend Blog looked at some leaked GM information. This information covered information such as which cars will be built where, and models, etc. While many cars of the list had a brand name (i.e. Chevy, Saturn), the Volt did not. It was listed as Global Delta Volt.
What could this mean? Does the Volt cause too much to be a Chevy and therefore is being moved up to a Cadillac where GM can charge more for the car? Unlikely because Bob Lutz (GM Representative) has said that the Volt will be under $30,000 and marketing has shown it as a Chevy, at least in the United States it should be.

Not a single purely electric vehicle with four seats and the ability to reach highway speeds is being mass-produced anywhere in the world. ...
