If that's what you were thinking, you were right! It was built by "World Champion Sand Sculptor Peter Vogelaar", so why did he do it? Autobloggreen has the answer:
"What better way to commemorate such an important vehicle and environmental sustainability than by creating a tribute out of sand" asks Peter."
The sculpture is located at Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver where is will be on display for the rest of the day.
